“Persecution is the daily reality of at least 100 million Christians around the world,”- Godfrey Yogarajah, World Evangelical Alliance, Religious Liberty Commission
The World Watch List is Open Doors’ annual ranking of the 50 countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution. North Korea has been at the top of this list since 2002. OD estimates that there are approx. 300,000 Christians in North Korea. 50,000-70,000 of these Christians are currently imprisoned in terrible labour camps for their faith. It is unlikely that they will ever be able to leave.
Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world. The Middle East is the birthplace of Christianity and in some parts of it is in danger of disappearing completely.
